The Centre forEducation and Specialized Courses at the Faculty of Law for Commerce and Judiciary in Novi Sad of the University Business Academy in Novi Sad was founded in 2008 since the Faculty recognized the importance of young people's initiative and creativeness as key factors for successful professional education before graduation.

Providing students with practical experience and professional training should not be considered as an extraordinary thing, but rather a normality and a necessary element of the educational process. The Faculty of Law for Commerce and Judiciary, like any other faculty, serves as an educational base from which the students can further develop both professionally and as individuals. While attending classes students learn about “how things should be”, or how things are in theory, but the Center for Education and Specialized Courses is there to help them find out how things are in reality. Specialized courses provide students with the possibility to analyze real-life cases and examples and see for themselves what happens in the future, once they enter the labor market.

Having established the Center for Education and Specialized Courses, the Faculty of Law for Commerce and Judiciary in Novi Sad has shown that it takes its educational role seriously and that it assumes responsibility for their students' professional results in the future. Thus the Center also helps students in their professional orientation and career planning by organizing various seminars, specialized courses, practical trainings and different kinds of professional and educational programs.

The activities of the Center refer to continuous professional and academic development of students, university graduates, but also employed individuals who wish to improve and expand their professional knowledge and skills through informal educational activities and specialized courses. Sometimes, the reasons for this are purely practical, in the sense that they wish to advance in their careers and get a better position in their company, but sometimes it has to do with intrinsic motivation to continually develop themselves. Nowadays, it is no longer enough to have just a university diploma, but also to be able to present some extra skills or competencies, to have an impressive CV, or special certificates and outstanding references.

The Center for Informal Education and Specialized Courses offers a variety of specialized courses which give students the opportunity to gain narrowly specialized knowledge in the following fields:

  • Proprietary relationships between marital and extramarital partners
  • The security system of the Republic of Serbia
  • Organized crime
  • Human trafficking
  • Establishing the factual state in criminal and legal proceedings
  • Legal and economic effects of misuse of information technologies
  • A jurist in the economic world
  • Human rights
  • Financial law
